Health Condition Management

A precise, prescriptive, pro-active approach to pain and chronic disease.

“Chronic diseases are defined broadly as conditions that last 1 year or more and require ongoing medical attention or limit activities of daily living or both. Chronic diseases such as heart diseasecancer, and diabetes are the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. They are also leading drivers of the nation’s $3.3 trillion in annual health care costs.” https://www.cdc.gov/chronicdisease/about/index.htm

“Exercise is Medicine® is an initiative focused on encouraging primary care physicians and other health care providers to include exercise when designing treatment plans for patients or to refer the patient to a qualified health and fitness or other allied health care professional for exercise counseling. Exercise is Medicine is committed to the belief that exercise and physical activity are integral in the prevention and treatment of diseases and should be regularly assessed as part of all medical care.”-ACSM (American College of Sport Medicine)

Techniques developed within athletic training, physical therapy, exercise physiology and strength and conditioning are implemented to bridge the gap in between an individual being in the injury (or sickness) cycle to beginning to develop their fitness and performance. We work in close communication with your Allied Health practitioners and other preventative healthcare professionals for the client’s most optimal development.

Chronic Pain can be caused by inflammatory disorders such as fibromyalgia, tightness and neuromuscular issues, or musculoskeletal issues. Myofascial Pain Syndrome is a very common form of chronic pain we work with. We address chronic pain by directly addressing the body’s biomechanics. Chronic neuromuscular pain is caused by muscular or fascial restrictions developed throughout life by over-training, under-use, or acute injury. The nervous system compensates by creating more restrictions. These new restrictions cause even more pain, postural distortions, and lack of movement. We utilize highly effective passive and active techniques to eliminate the cause of your pain and increase mobility.

Metabolic disease is a collection of diseases/conditions: obesity, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. Specific cardiovascular and nutritional protocols are used to improve these conditions and progress can be measured through traditional healthcare testing as well as over the counter tests.

Cardiovascular/Pulmonary disease is very closely related to metabolic disease. Issues with the heart and lungs are also dealt with by applying specific cardiovascular exercise protocols along with nutrition coaching.

Neuromuscular Disorders are conditions specifically affecting the work of muscular action from the nervous system. Spinal cord injury, stroke, orthopedic disability, Parkinson’s, and MS are all conditions treated from the focus on development of motor programming from the nervous system. Movement based programs are extremely individualized and can greatly improve the affected individual’s function.

Diagnostics

"How can you get to where you’re going unless you know where you’re at?"

Diagnostics are the first step in the healthcare process. As fitness/prevention is part of the healthcare continuum, diagnostics are an integral part of our process. Our services are developed around a frequent and thorough testing and screening protocol that highlights imbalances to be addressed and indicates progress over time.

We combine this testing protocol with bioinformatics tools that track both your health data and your performance within the program. This optimizes our approach to the individual as well as forming a strong connection with health providers.

**It should be noted that we work with chronic imbalances. In cases of diseases or acute health issues, contact your physician or other healthcare provider.
